Saint Michael the Archangel
Catholic Church of the Archdiocese of Boston. Hudson, Massachusetts
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic charitable organization, dedicated to the service of those in need, It was founded in 1833 by Blessed Frederic Ozanam and five of his friends. They chose St. Vincent de Paul, who had founded 3 other charities in the seventeenth century, as their patron saint because they also planned to serve the poor and bring them closer to God. Currently in the United States alone, there are more than 4,400 conferences and 96,000 Vincentians.
The Society helps the needy regardless of their creed, ethnic, or social background via person-to-person contact. We collaborate with other charitable service agencies to assist with relieving a need or addressing the cause of the need, so that the individual or family can move forward with knowledge that will help them to prevent the issue in the future. Our conference, here at St. Michael Church is funded by the generosity of our parishioners and community members. We expand our giving by including holiday meals and children’s gifts at Christmas, thanks to the giving and caring nature of our townsfolk.
Some 12 million people are helped annually by Vincentians in the U.S. alone. Confidentiality and dignity of those served is maintained throughout the assistance process. One of our key goals is to bring hope and encouragement to those in need.
If you need help, or wish to get involved with this society, call (978) 618-5175 Monday - Friday 9 AM through 5 PM. Please feel free to leave a message and a member will reach out to you within 24 hours…or on a Monday if you called on a holiday or after 5 PM Friday.
Companions on the Journey is a small group of senior women who meet weekly (Fridays 1-3 ) in a private home to share our lives, learn more about our faith, and grow in holiness. We keep our conversations rooted in our faith by studying solid Catholic (non-fiction) books. We read a chapter or so at home during the week and then discuss what we’ve read. Here are a few of our recent books: Into His Likeness: Be Transformed as a Disciple of Christ by Edward Sri; The God Who Loves You by Peter Kreeft; and (currently) The Way of Trust and Love; A Retreat Guided by St. Therese of Lisieux by Jacques Philippe.
You are invited to join us as, in companionship with one another, we seek to enter more deeply into the spiritual life. Please email Christina Burbeck,
cburbeck@mindspring.com, for more information.
"...Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world... I was sick and you visited me... Then the righteous will answer him, saying... when did we see you sick and visit you? And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me."....
(Matthew 25:31-46, The Final Judgement)

Walking With Purpose (WWP) is an organization that helps Catholic women grow in their faith through the study of scripture and the Catholic Church’s teachings.
WWP women’s groups have started in hundreds of parishes all over the country. A group started at St. Michael’s parish in 2020, and participants have found it to be a valuable opportunity for support, community, and faith enrichment. Women of all ages and stages in their faith journey are welcome to join a study group. If studying isn't your thing, come to one of our "Connect Coffee" sessions to watch and discuss a video.
To register or find out more about our current programs, view our 2024informationsheet. Any questions about this parish-based women's ministry can be emailed to the program coordinators at stmikeswwp@gmail.com.
The Homebound Ministry serves the members of our parish who are unable to attend mass due to chronic illness, surgery or are restricted to their homes for other reasons. The homebound ministers visit, pray with, and bring communion to these members of our parish.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to inform, engage and enlist our parish community in the battle to defend, protect and safeguard life from the moment of conception until natural death.
Vision Statement
Our vision is a world in which every human life, regardless of circumstance, is celebrated, loved and revered as an expression of the very image and likeness of almighty God.
Who we are
We are a parish-based ministry focused on raising awareness of the threat posed to the sanctity of life, in particular the life of the pre-born child, by a culture that refuses to acknowledge or protect the right to life of pre-born children. We seek to accomplish this by: gathering and sharing information about radical initiatives opposed to Catholic social teaching; issuing periodic bulletin articles on the sanctity of life; engaging in social action opposed to a culture of death while supporting the efforts of crisis pregnancy centers in our community; engaging in personal and communal prayer; and above all, giving witnessing to our pro-life Catholic beliefs in the public square.
What we do
We strive to provide information to the parish community about pro-life issues in the public discourse, as well as Catholic teaching, both doctrinal, as well as inspirational insights from the wisdom of Church Fathers and the Saints, on the sanctity of life. (See 0 and 1).
We support social action initiatives opposing
abortion, including prayer vigils, public protest marches and signature petitions opposing radical abortion legislation. These include 40 Days for Life prayer vigils (See 2, 3, 4, and 5), the National Men’s March to Abolish Abortion and Rally for Personhood (See 6, 7 and 8), the Gift of Life March in New York City, the March for Life in D.C., and others.
We partner with crisis pregnancy centers that provide emotional and material support to mothers facing unplanned pregnancies who, without the generosity of pro-life supporters, may not find it possible to carry their babies to term. This includes parish drives to collect baby diapers and toiletries, baby formula, new baby clothing, and cash/gift card donations. (See 9)
Our Father’s Table began in October 1986 and consists of several area congregations who take turns preparing and serving meals to those in need. Our dedicated group serves an appreciative crowd of 15-20 guests at the New Hope Community Church, 204 Main Street, Marlboro.
Saint Michael Parish serves meals 4 times a year, on the 2nd Thursday of January, April, July and October. Meals are served from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. We welcome any volunteers to help cook, bake and/or serve. Our Father’s Table is a visible sign of Christ’s love of work. Our mission is to feed the hungry and with the help of our dedicated people and God’s blessing, we will continue to do so for years to come.

Suffering the loss of a loved one is never easy. Fortunately, the funeral ministry is right there to walk the family through the process of a Catholic funeral. A member of the funeral team will aid in the planning of the funeral Mass, committal, and any other concerns the family may have.

"How can a church become a sanctuary—a place where individuals living with mental health challenges feel safe, supported, and a sense of belonging? The Sanctuary Course for Catholics was created to inspire and equip communities of faith that are asking this important question. Developed in consultation with mental health professionals, theologians, and people with lived experience, this eight-session study guide explores key mental health topics and examines meaningful ways to offer companionship, support recovery, and promote wellbeing."
