"The Church knows that this Gospel of life, which she has receive from her Lord, has a profound and persuasive echo in the heart of every person--believer and non-believer alike--because it marvellously fulfils all the heart's expectations while infinitely surpassing them. Even in the midst of difficulties and uncertainties, every person sincerely open to truth and goodness can, by the light of reason and the hidden action of grace, come to recognize in the natural law written in the heart (cf. Rom 2:14-15) the sacred value of human life from its very beginning until its end, and can affirm the right of every human being to have this primary good respected to the highest degree. Upon the recognition of this right, every human community and the political community itself are founded." (Pope St. John Paul II, Evangelium Vitae, ¶2)
The Catholic Church has always respected the dignity and essential rights of every human life. Recognizing how challenging it is to live up to this conviction, especially when adequate support systems are so scarce, St. Michael Parish has committed to providing such support in our community wherever possible.
We understand the fear and uncertainty of facing an unplanned pregnancy. We appreciate the anxiety and burden of watching a loved one dwindle away in the later stages of natural life, or face the helplessness of a life-altering injury or disease. But we hope to help nurture the courage, the heroic generosity, and the hope-filled faith it takes to welcome the gift of life these circumstances offer.
If you are struggling with the confusion and stress that comes with these situations, please reach out to us. We will strive to provide support, guidance, and a community to help you make the noble decision to foster this gift of life. Call us at 978.562.2552.
