Another beautiful Christmas season is upon us. As we celebrate these twelve days of Christmas we once again reflect on the wonder and the mystery of the Incarnation, God becoming human and making His dwelling place among us.
Every year, one of the most touching parts of this season for me, is watching all of you come into church on those last two weekends of Advent, carrying the festive packages for the children of the giving tree. Your generosity and caring epitomize the true spirit of the season. The sheer number of packages that surround the giving tree at every single weekend Mass is a testimony to that generosity. Sincere thanks go to Dave and Jan Fournier who coordinated this effort and to all the members of our St. Vincent DePaul Society for their help in sorting and delivering th large number of gifts.
Next weekend on the Feast of The Epiphany we will celebrate with our annual Carol Sing. As you know the music for the whole of Advent and Christmas has been reverential and moving and has greatly enhanced our worship experience. The Carol Sing really is the culmination of this glorious time of year.
Thanks to John Volpe and all the choir members for their dedication and their willingness to share their talent for God’s work. Also thanks to all who are responsible for making our liturgies this season so meaningful: those who coordinated the Advent Candle processions; those who decorated the church; Mary Ellen Bartlett who coordinated the poinsettias deliveries to the homebound and to all of you who carried out those deliveries; and of course thanks to all the ministers who contributed to the flawless celebrations.
As we move into this New Year, we pray God’s Spirit will continue to abound in our parish life!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
