ABBY’S RAMBLINGS!
Here I sit in my favorite chair, looking out at all the people as they walk in and out of that building next door…my Dad, Fr. Ron calls it a church, whatever that is. He goes there a lot and leaves me alone to wait for his return.
Speaking of leaving me alone, while he is on vacation he asked me if I would like to write some of my thoughts for you. It is about time! After two and a half years living here in Hudson I have to say it’s a pretty good life: Plenty to eat (treats too), lots of time to sleep, and oh so many good friends who come by and take me for walks. And any time I snuggle next to my Dad’s chair I get my back rubbed… but he always stops too soon.
My friend Belle is the parish center mascot and she and I play and play and play when we get together. She is older than I am but much smaller. She even tires me out!
Speaking of getting tired out, my cousin Honey is only eight months old and she never stops wanting to play. She jumps and grabs me by the neck and chews on me until I play back. Uncle Bob takes us into the woods behind the house in Uxbridge where we run and run and find amazing smells. I wonder what we miss when we are not there. Sometimes I bark at those things in the middle of the night! It doesn’t make my dad and uncle too happy but hey, they need my protection from whatever is out there. And I have to teach Honey what a faithful, loyal companion is supposed to do.
By the time you read this my dad will be home and scratching me again…. I do miss him!
All you great people who say hi to me when I am in the window and who give me treats make my home very special.
I have enjoyed sharing my thoughts with you and hope my dad will give me another chance soon.
