FR. RON’S RAMBLINGS!
This has certainly been quite the winter...one storm after another, plus all the cold. Even Abby has trouble in the deep snow. While she likes to nuzzle her muzzle into the drifts, she gets distracted and has to go out numerous times! Not to say anything about Fr. Bob’s puppy, Honey. It’s her first snow so she is both fascinated and buried at the same time.
I was in touch with Fr. Sam up in Maine this past week. His first experience with the beauty of snow I think has worn off a bit. He said: “You guys sure have some kind of weather here”. They have had even more snow than we have!
I would like to express my gratitude for your generosity to the fuel collection. Your outpouring so far has been heartwarming. To date we have collected $15,085 and our goal is $35,000.
Last week our liturgy committee met to finalize our plans for Lent. Once again this year we hope to offer the Lenten Longings program. Each Lent several groups of people gather in different places to pray with the scripture readings for the upcoming weekend. In years gone by, I have personally found the experience to be deeply spiritual and moving and a wonderful way to highlight the season. Reflection continues in a personal way throughout the week and the meeting gathers the thoughts and prayers all. Watch the bulletin for further details.
We have scheduled a Communal Penance Service as usual as well as the Friday Stations of the Cross. A full scheduled will be published in the upcoming bulletin.
