FR. RON'S RAMBLINGS
FOR THE 33RD SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME
NOVEMBER 13, 2016
This past Monday evening we celebrated our Annual
Memorial Mass for those who died this past year. I
always look forward to gathering with these families
and remembering and praying with and for them.
As we have done each year during this month of
November, we enthrone a Book of Life in which the
names of all our deceased loved ones have been writ-
ten. Next to the book stands the Paschal Candle which
we light at every funeral during the year as a sign of
the Resurrection and the new life our deceased now
share with God in heaven. We also have the All Souls
Day envelopes in a small box. During November we
remember all these souls in each Mass we celebrate.
You are most welcome to enter the names of your
deceased loved ones in this book at anytime during
the month. However, if you have already written
those names in previous years, there is no need to re-
peat them. We keep that Book of Life from year to
year so we remember them each and every year. May
they all rest in the peace of our loving God in the
kingdom of heaven.
On a more ‘mundane’ (but very important) subject,
I am pleased to announce that the Grand Annual Col-
lection has taken in a total of $31,345.00 to date.
Your response as always has been very generous. It is
coming in handy these days.
We are having a new furnace installed in the parish
center which has been without heat so far this season.
This will cost us close to $20,000. It is a reasonable
expenditure as we are replacing a very old (if not
original) furnace. I appreciate the understanding of all
those who have had to spend may hours in that cold
building! So our Grand Annual Collection continues
and donations are accepted anytime that it is conven-
ient for you. Thanks for all your generosity.
