August 4, 2016
As we move along through these warm days of summer, we are fast approaching our parish picnic. Each year as you know we gather at the Hudson Elks Pavilion. We celebrate Mass at 12 noon, followed by hot dogs and hamburgers (grilled by the Men’s Club) along with many salads and desserts, as always we request that you bring those side dishes to round out our meal.
It is a great time for socializing and building community spirit. We will have the traditional raffle which helps to defray the parish costs and adds a bit of excitement to the afternoon. Brian Sousa has gathered some of our youth to help with children’s’ games and activities.
So be sure to reserve Sunday afternoon, August 28 and come join us for a good time.
It has come to my attention that we are in need of additional lectors and Eucharistic ministers. We are so grateful to all who presently serve in these ministries. Your dedication and consistency make all the difference in terms of the reverent celebration of our liturgies.
Sheila Mahoney and Rachel Duffy coordinate these ministries, creating the ongoing schedules. With enough ministers the commitment is usually one a month. If you would be available please see me after Mass or contact the church office with your contact information.
I will be away for the next couple of weeks for vacation. Fr. William will be covering and for that I am most grateful.
