Our music director, John Volpe has decided to take a new position. John’s last weekend with us will be August 7.
John came to us almost seven years ago and has truly transformed our music ministry. When he began this was his first position as a parish music director. From the beginning he was dedicated to growth. He learned to play the organ and with much support from staff and parishioners, John shared his many talents and provided quality music that was always reverential and liturgical.
John is returning to his home parish and will be working in the Chelmsford collaborative. He leaves us, having been well prepared by the good and dedicated people of St. Michael’s and takes with him all that we gave him!
We are fortunate to have Tim Wirth to step into this position. You may have seen Tim at the organ/keyboard several times over the past few months as well as singing in the choir at the 4 pm Mass. Tim recently joined the parish and brought with him much musical talent and willingness to be part of our music ministry. He is an accomplished musician who is originally from Buffalo, NY.
I want to extend my gratitude to Tim for his generosity in coming forward and I know that all of you will welcome him and offer him the kind of support which is characteristic of St. Michael’s.
