Returning from vacation I had forgotten what it is like to have a puppy around. Yes, Abby was a puppy and she chewed a lot, but for a puppy she was rather calm and laid back. However, Fr. Bob’s Honey is a very lively one! She leaps instead of walks and never leaves Abby alone. It’s good they have each other as playmates, but it is almost unending! Abby returns to Hudson to get some rest and relief!!
As we approach the month of February, it is that time again for our Annual Fuel Collection. You should be receiving a letter in the mail this week . On the one hand it is a thank you for your generosity in the Grand Annual from this past fall. We have just about reached our goal of $50,000. Thank you all so much.
The second purpose of this letter is to ask again for your generosity. It has been a cold and snowy winter already and it is only half over. As I write this, the prediction is for another major snowstorm beginning this afternoon. Heat is one of our largest expenses every year and can drain our financial resources. Hence we take up this special collection to offset that expense.
Please give as generously as you can and our buildings will remain warm and cozy for the duration of the winter months!
Also, a special thanks to our Portuguese parishioners and their recent malassada sale. This periodic sale throughout the course of the year brings in several thousand dollars which contributes to our overall budget.
Lastly, as these snows of winter blow around us, stay safe and snuggle up if you can and remember that the warmth of God’s love surrounds you!
