A great big Thank You to our Portuguese parishioners for their very successful Malassada sale a couple of weekends ago. They realized an $800 profit for the parish. That money will be used to help finance the new walkway which was recently installed in the front of the rectory. It replaced two layers of broken concrete!!
On a sad note, this past week Dr. Jose Figueiredo from our Portuguese parishioners died this past week. Dr. Figueiredo was a long time parishioner who was a leader in the community and gave of himself to help the parish and many others. He was also the Portuguese representative on the Pastor’s Advisory Council. We will miss him, and pray for him and his wife Julia and their family.
Also on a more mundane note, it is time once again for our Grand Annual Collection. As you know, we depend upon your generosity each year at this time to augment our weekly offertory through this collection. Those on our mailing list should have received a letter, from me, along with the parish financial statement. I am most grateful for your ongoing support in the offertory collections; but we also need at least $40,000 in this appeal just to meet our operating costs. As you know, we have trimmed our expenses as much as possible at this time and we hope that you can find it in your hearts and in your budgets to be generous once again.
Thanksgiving Day is fast approaching and I find myself grateful for all of you and you support in so many ways. May God continue to bless you all and give you His love during these upcoming holidays!
