Thank you for your warm and generous welcome to Heidi Cerneka , the Maryknoll Lay Missionary who was with us last weekend. She truly enjoyed being here and had a positive experience of St. Michael’s.
So very often when we have someone come in from the outside, like a missionary or a visiting priest who helps out, we receive “high marks” not only for our welcoming attitude but for the quality of liturgy, music, parish life, and dedication of so many people who make that all possible. We can easily take for granted all that we have at St. Michael’s. We can easily find fault with this or that. We can look at another parish and see something we don’t have but miss all that we do as a community in so many, many ways. Sometimes it takes the unbiased eye of a non-member to remind us that we are blessed; that our weekend and daily worship is always reverent and faith filled. Our website is second to none and reaches people across the country who contact us and ask about the ways we minister.
Next Sunday afternoon we will have our annual parish picnic which of those marvelous community events that just build parish spirit! Each year we seem to have a greater number of people who gather for Mass, food, and fun activities for all ages. Be sure to set aside those few hours and come join us. It is truly one of the highlights of the year!
