July 5, 2017
This weekend, along with welcoming our new music director Jonathan, we are also pleased to have with us our new SMA father from Africa. Unfortunately at this point (Monday morning, 6/26) I have only received confirmation that someone will be coming for this weekend but no name or information about him has been forwarded. I look forward to meeting him and getting to know him over the next couple of months. Our experience over the years is that these young men are dedicated, spiritual, and willing to share their faith and ministry with us. Please be sure to give him your usual warm welcome and make room for him in your families this summer.
Tuesday we also celebrate the Fourth of July. As we remember the great freedoms we have as a nation, we give thanks to God for all the ways He blesses us each and every day.
This holiday is always marked by outdoor rituals from barbecues and pool parties to gathering on the esplanade with the Boston Pops Orchestra and culminating with the spectacular fireworks display.
As usual Fr. Bob and I will be hosting our own barbecue at our home in Uxbridge. And of course the SMA father will join us where he will get his fill of ribs and potato salad, American hospitality, and lots and lots of dog!!! (Let’s hope he likes animals!)
I hope all your celebrations are enjoyable and safe.
HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!
