As we gather this weekend we celebrate the wonderful Feast of the Holy Trinity. As we all know this is one of the great mysteries of our faith…three persons in one God. I try to understand this in terms of the many ways that God has revealed Himself to us through the ages: As a loving Father, a Son and Brother, and an abiding presence in the Holy Spirit. This is also a feast that celebrates the faithfulness of God to us throughout the history of the world and His promise of faithfulness in the future.
On another note specific to our parish, I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that Pat Conte is retiring from her position as religious education coordinator for the first five grades. But I also said that we have someone lined up to step into that position.
That person is the long time parishioner Roz McHugh. Roz has been singing in the choir and has been a cantor since I arrived here in Hudson. When we began thinking about someone to fill this position, Roz came to mind. Not only is she a faithful and dedicated parishioner, she also has a background in education. That becomes an ideal qualification for this position. Roz is as excited about taking over as we are in having her.
During her first year I am sure there will be many adjustments. I ask for your continued cooperation and help as she begins.
We welcome Roz to our staff and pray she will be with us for many years to come.
