FR. RON’S RAMBLINGS
This weekend Fr. Peter and Fr. Adriano (our Brazilian priest) will be covering the Masses while both Fr. Tony and I am away. Fr. Tony is going to the Xaverian’s center in Wisconsin to celebrate his fiftieth anniversary of ordination with his remaining classmates. Besides his celebration here at St. Michael’s (which by the way he still raves about!) he celebrated with his community in Holliston. Now the final celebration is taking place this weekend. Fifty years of service to God needs multiple celebrations!
Fr. Tony will also be away on several other weekends during this summer. Each year, he is required by his community to preach mission appeals in various locations but that takes him away from us! C’est la vie!
I will also be away but not celebrating too much. A couple of weeks ago I had my forty-fourth anniversary of ordination and had a quiet family celebration. This weekend I will be in the sun, continuing to heal up from my surgery. While it was successful as far as it went, I may need further surgery in the near future. I will keep you informed as it becomes apparent to me. More tests and doctors’ visits etc. Most of you all know the drill!
It is good to have some warm, summerlike weather these days. It just lifts all of our spirits. Hope you too can enjoy getting out and soaking up the sun in this warmth. A big thanks to Fr. Peter and Fr. Adriano for their help this weekend.
