FR. RON'S RAMBLING'S FOR THE 27TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
OCTOBER 9, 2016
The sun is shining brightly this morning (Monday)
after nearly a week of overcast skies. A couple of hours
ago, Fr. Joey Evanglista left for the airport to travel
across the country on his way home to the Philippines.
He was a welcome guest in the parish all weekend and
we thank you for your generosity toward his community,
the Missionaries of Jesus. St. Michael’s was his last
mission appeal this year. He began in California in early
July. As he left he commented that St. Michael’s was
a great place to conclude his tour. He and Abby got
along well after her initial howl when she didn’t recognize
the stranger in her house!!
Next Saturday we will be celebrating our biannual
Healing Mass with the Sacrament of the Sick. Once
again we invite all who have felt a need of healing to
come and to receive the graces of this special Sacrament.
Whether the need is physical, emotional, or spiritual,
we bring that brokenness before God, ever aware
of the special place ,the sick had in the ministry of Jesus.
How many healing miracles we read about in the
gospels! !
I myself am feeling pretty well. I will conclude my
treatments next Friday and pray for no further recurrence!
Hope to see you all on Saturday, October 15 at 11
A.M.!!
