Fr. Ron's Ramblings
September 18, 2016
With September upon us, Religious Education is beginning once again. Last weekend, grades 1-5 had their first meetings and all seemed to run smoothly under the capable leadership of Pat Conte and all the dedicated catechists.
This week our middle school classes and confirmation classes will get underway. Brian Sousa has organized this part of our program and again it all seems ready to go along with our catechists as well.
This is a large program which takes much work and many hands to run throughout the year. I am grateful to all those who pitch in and help pass the faith along to yet another generation.
On another note, I have been informed by Catherine Russell that the Pita support group will no longer be meeting. This has been a valuable ministry for those who have chosen to participate over the years. While there will sadly always be this need among us, dwindling interest in the monthly meeting format predicates the decision to discontinue.
Catherine has done an amazing service for so many through the years. She assures me that she will continue to be available to anyone who is experiencing the loss of a child, but the formal meetings will no longer take place.
Our thanks as a parish go out to her and to all the grieving parents who willingly shared their own stories in the hopes of helping others through this very sad experience.
May all those children rest in peace and may their parents find the strength of God’s comforting love.
