FR. RON’S RAMBLINGS
As I sit here by the ocean it never ceases to amaze me how people flock to sit by its shore. The beach here in Myrtle Beach is almost always filled with people from all over. The new lifeguard himself is from Poland! There is certainly something magnetic about being by the ocean. Its mystery and depth, its beauty and expanse are mesmerizing and always leads one to contemplate the wonders of creation and the greatness of God Himself.
We all need to step back from time to time and remember how God provides for us every single day. We so easily take the wonders of creation for granted. This summer which has been so incredibly dry reminds us of the gift of water we so freely drink and wash with and water our lawns and flowers. Staying hydrated is a challenge for all of us.
Next Sunday we will have our annual parish picnic. It will be the ninth anniversary of my first day in Hudson, my tenth picnic. Each year has been different and challenging but very fulfilling as well. We have seen many changes over those years but with all change comes new life and new challenges. Let’s hope this coming year is another grace filled opportunity for us all.
Don’t forget to come to the Elks next Sunday and bring a dessert or a side dish. Let’s celebrate the goodness and the blessing abounding in St. Michael’s Parish.
